LEMEK WINS GIRLS' AMATEUR AT THE COUNTRY CLUB

Lincoln – Danielle Lemek of Doniphan won her third consecutive state girl’s amateur championship Tuesday at the Country Club of Lincoln. Leading by one entering the final round, Lemek shot a 5-over par 77 to top runner-up Jackie O’Doherty of Lincoln by 5 shots. O’Doherty finished at 158, Lemek at 153.

Isabella Baldacci of Norfolk posted the low round of the day with a 3-over par 75 and finished 3rd at 160. Sarah Jo Pravecek of Omaha was fourth with a 163.

With her win, Lemek ties Lincoln’s Leigh Sutton for the most girl’s amateur titles and with one more year of eligibility, she can claim a record fourth straight championship in 2012. Her state girl’s match play count is the same making this victory her sixth state golf association championship.
