WINS INAUGURAL SENIOR MATCH PLAY

- Mike Krumland of Columbus defeated William Lawson of Omaha
in 19 holes to claim the Inaugural Nebraska Senior Match Play
Championship at the Pines Wednesday. Down four at the turn,
Krumland came back to square the match on the 17th hole and
won the first extra hole with par. Earlier in the day, he squared
his semifinal match with birdie on the final hole against Murray
Krambeer of Bellevue before winning in 20 holes.
In
other action Bob Miller of Waterloo defeated Tom Taylor of Omaha
5 and 4 to win the President's Flight, Bert Newell of Lincoln
defeated David McEwen of Lincoln 4 and 2 to win the Bob Astleford
flight, Rob Merrill of Norfolk defeated Steve Earl of Omaha
1 up to claim the Sam Reynolds Flight and Jerry Tanner of Lincoln
claimed the Rod Bliss, Jr. flight defeating Jeff Hazlett of
Omaha in 20 holes.
