DUFFY CLAIMS RECORD THIRD TITLE

Lincoln - Patrick Duffy of Omaha claimed a record third title, winning the 19th Nebraska Mid-Amateur Championship in a play-off at Yankee Hill Country Club in Lincoln. Duffy birdied the 18th hole to shoot a final round 73 (+1) and get into a play-off at 146 (+2) with Lincoln's Travis Minzel and Omaha's Bill Amundsen. Duffy won on the third play-off hole, hitting a hybrid into a howling wind to five feet and making the putt for birdie. It's back-to-back titles for Duffy to go along with the record third title.
