BRUEGGEMANN IS NEBRASKA'S 100th AMATEUR CHAMPION

Lincoln - Jayson Brueggemann won the 100th Nebraska Amateur Championship by two shots Friday at the Country Club of Lincoln. It is the first state championship for the physical trainer from Lincoln.

Several lead changes highlighted the final round. 2007 Match Play champion, John Hurley of O'Neill reached the five-under par mark but a bogey on hole #14 and a double bogey on hole #15 produced a four-way tie at two-under par with Bruggemann, 2001 champion Knox Jones and Kevin Stanek of Bellevue. Brueggemann birdied holes #16 and #18 for the final two stroke difference. Stanek was honored as the low junior and tied Hurley and Jones for runner-up honors.
