Beemer - Omaha's John Rasmussen won the 2008 Nebraska Junior Amateur Championship Wednesday by one shot over Kevin Stanek of Bellevue and Greg Pohlmann of Columbus. Rasmussen began the day two shots back of Creighton recruit Austin Miller of Gering and tied with Kevin Gillick of Lincoln. It was the Millard South golfer, however, that claimed his first state championship at Indian Trails Country Club shooting a final round score of even-par 71. Gillick finished three shots back at 218 following a 75 with Miller closing at 219.

In addition to crowning Rasmussen as a new state champion, Kevin Stanek of Bellevue was recognized for shooting the low final round score of three-under par 68. For complete results please link to the appropriate tab above.
