Overview

The Nebraska Golf Foundation (NGF) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization established to promote and conserve the true spirit of the game of golf and its life enhancing values.

The group's focus is on providing scholarships and supporting worthwhile junior programs that teach life skills and values to deserving youth through the game of golf.

In order to serve their mission the NGF:

Awards Grants
The Nebraska Golf Foundation awards grants to junior programs in Nebraska that teach life skills and values through golf. Grant decisions are made in February with funding made available in April.

Administers Nebraska Kids on Course
The Nebraska Golf Foundation's own Nebraska Kids on Course program offers children from the Omaha Boys and Girls Clubs and Girls Inc. an introductory course on the game of golf including lessons on life skills, rules and etiquette. Upon completion of the program, graduates have access to program golf courses for free. This pilot program based in Omaha was created through a partnership with the Peter Kiewit Foundation and it's Summer Fun program. Future plans are to expand the curriculum statewide to ensure we reach as many deserving youth as possible.

Administers Great Golf Expectations
Great Golf Expectations is a program through the Nebraska Golf Foundation that provides a select group of dedicated and hard working junior golfers ages 13 and older the avenue to potentially play golf at a college scholarship level and provide life skills to lead productive lives thereafter. The program, under the direction of Mr. Tom Sieckmann, accepts applications in the fall each year and is currently seeking candidates. Link here for further information.

Offers Free Clinics
The Foundation annually teams up with local youth programs to create a full schedule of free youth golf clinics. The clinics are open to all skill levels but are intended to introduce new kids to golf. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about putting, chipping and the full swing, all while being taught important life skills and core values.

Awards Scholarships
The Nebraska Golf Foundation awards college scholarships to students in the University of Nebraska's Professional Golf Management program and annually presents the Virgil A. Parker scholarship to a graduating member of the Nebraska Junior Golf Association who consistently embodies the values inherent in golf.

In order to support it's programs and initiatives, the Foundation raises funds in the following ways:

- Individual giving
- Planned giving and bequests
- Events
- Corporate donations
- Strategic partnerships
- Grants
