Junior Competitions
The Nebraska Junior Golf Association conducts four state championships
and 17 regional tournaments. Championship level members are eligible
to compete in all of these competitions. Regional members are
eligible to play in regional events only. Please read below for
further information.
CHAMPIONSHIPS
The NJGA conducts four state championships, two each for boys
and girls. Championship members of the NJGA may enter these events

REGIONAL
COMPETITIONS
Beginning
in 2008, the NJGA will offer the following regional competitions
for golfers age 12-18. Players
in regional competitions will be grouped by handicap as opposed
to age. Entry fees are $12.
The boys will
play in three divisions: Gold - less than 9.5 USGA Handicap Index®,
Silver - between 9.5 and 18.4 and Bronze - 18.5 or higher Handicap
Index®. The girls will have two divisions: Gold - less than
15.5 and Silver 15.5 or higher. The Gold divisions will have two
age groups 12-15 and 16-18. The other divisions will not have
age groups, but will have net winners as well as gross.
Since many
junior golfers won't have handicaps when they join the NJGA, most
tournaments will have an open division where all players without
handicaps can compete until their handicap is established. If
you post all the rounds you play, your handicap will be established
faster and you will find it more fun to play with your friends
as well as in competitions.

USGA CHAMPIONSHIP
QUALIFIERS
The United States Golf Association conducts 13 national championships
including two for junior golfers under the age of 18. These championships
are reserved for golfers that qualify through sectional tournaments
held around the country. Junior golfers may attempt to qualify
only once at a single sectional site. For further information,
including dates of those sectional qualifiers in Nebraska, please

COLLEGIATE PREVIEW
SERIES
The Collegiate Preview Series was formed by the Kansas Golf
Association to give high school age boy golfers from Kansas and
surrounding states a high-caliber fall tournament schedule the
Midwest areas best courses. The five, 36-hole, invitational tournaments
are events that provide the opportunity to build aspiring college
golfers’ playing records and give them a sense
of the college golf atmosphere.
Additionally,
CPS players have the opportunity to earn points toward the All
Collegiate Preview Series Team. Points will be awarded at each
tournament with the top six players being recognized at the final
CPS event. Each team member will then receive a certificate of
recognition.
