Bellevue University Takes Lead at Nebraska Intercollegiate

Round One Conducted Friday at Norfolk Country Club

NORFOLK (October 9, 2020) - Bellevue University jumped out to the lead after the first round of the 2020 Nebraska Intercollegiate at Norfolk Country Club on Friday.

The Bruins hold a large lead and were the only team to break par with a 282 (-6) total. It's a 14-stroke lead, as Nebraska Wesleyan University sits in second at 296 (+8). Four Bruins are in the top two, with freshman Hugo Ronnberg leading the way. Ronnberg shot the low round of the day, a 69 (-3) and leads by two strokes in the individual race.

Four other players broke par, including three Bellevue Bruins. Floris-Jan Oosterhof, Rodrigo Navarrete and Alex Zillig all shot rounds of 71 (-1) to help their team to the comfortable lead.

Bryce VunCannon is also tied for second at 71 (-1), as he led Nebraska Wesleyan with his red figures. His teammate, Connor Dormann, is tied for sixth at 73 (+1), along with Doane University's Garrett Dalton.

Concordia University's Drew D'Ercole and Bellevue's Cameron Lampe both finished with rounds of 74 (+2) and are tied for eighth. Rounding out the Top 10 is Doane's Ryan Weiss and Nebraska Wesleyan's Jack Goering in a tie for 10th at 75 (+3).
