Bostar Wins Third Title at Nebraska Women's Mid-Amateur

Final Round Conducted Sunday at Field Club of Omaha

OMAHA (September 14, 2025) - Lincoln's Carrie Bostar closed strong to win the 5th Nebraska Women's Mid-Amateur Championship at the Field Club of Omaha on Sunday.

A final round 74 (+6) gave Bostar a three-stroke victory with a 150 (+14) total. It is Bostar's third title, adding to her wins in the first two years of the championship in 2021 and 2022. She finished third last year, and did not compete in 2023.

Bostar fired a 76 (+8) in the first round to take a one-stroke lead over Elkhorn's Miae Hatfield. However, Hatfield took the lead early on the front nine, after Bostar double-bogeyed the first hole. The two went back and fourth and were tied with four holes to play.

That's when Bostar made her move, playing the final four holes in even-par, including a birdie on the par-3 16th hole. Hatfield fell behind with three bogeys over that stretch, and finished runner-up at 153 (+17).

Omaha's Elizabeth Morell finished third with a 154 (+18) total after a final round 74 (+6). Megan Place McAfee was fourth, after the round of the championship, a 73 (+5), for a 156 (+20) total. Tracey Akins of South Sioux City rounded out the Top 5 at 161 (+25).
