Jorgensen is Nebraska Girls' Golfer of the Year

First Award for South Dakota Commit

OMAHA (November 11, 2025) - The Nebraska Golf Association is proud to announce the selection of Minden's KayLynn Jorgensen as the 2025 Nebraska Girls’ Amateur Golfer of the Year presented by SWAG.

Jorgensen, a senior at Minden High School, secured her first NebGolf title this summer and ran away with the points race to earn her first award. She also won four other junior tournaments, and finished in the top three 10 times during the season.

Jorgensen broke through to win the 63rd Nebraska Girls' Match Play Championship at Riverside Golf Club in Grand Island in July. It was an impressive run to her first title, during which she rolled to a 9-and-7 win in her opening match, before surviving in a 21-hole battle against Omaha's Lauren Murnan. Jorgensen also took down the No. 1 seed, Eden Larson of Lincoln, in the Semifinals, before defeating the No. 2 seed Isabella Elgert of Lincoln in the Final, 4 and 3.

The win put a cap on an already impressive year for Jorgensen. She had finished tied for third at the 25th Nebraska Girls' Amateur in June, and followed that up with a win at the Nebraska Junior PGA Championship the following week. She also finished 17th at the 51st Nebraska Women's Amateur in June.

Jorgensen was a force on the Nebraska Junior Golf Tour as well, winning two Spring Junior Series events, and the NJG Tour Championship. She finished runner-up in two other NJG events, and also tied for runner-up honors a the 2024 NSAA Class C Championship last fall. Jorgensen recently won the 2025 Class C individual title, which will count towards the 2026 points race.

Jorgensen will be honored at the Nebraska Golf Association's Annual Awards Banquet on Friday, November 21 at Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln (Tickets can be purchased here). In addition, NebGolf will recognize its Amateur Golfer of the Year, Women’s Amateur Golfer of the Year, Junior Amateur Golfer of the Year and Senior Amateur Golfer of the Year.
