Lincoln's Owen Tucker completed an incredible run on Thursday at Wayne Country Club to win the 34th Nebraska Junior Match Play Championship. Tucker defeated the 2022 Nebraska Junior Golfer of the Year, Thomas Bryson of Lincoln, in the Final, 2 and 1. Tucker and Bryson are teammates at Lincoln Southeast and both are in the class of 2025. Bryson finished runner-up last year as well, on his way to being recognized as the top junior golfer in the state. After defeating the defending champion, Jackson Benge of Omaha, and the NSAA Class A Champion, Porter Topp of Omaha, yesterday, Tucker set his sights on Bryson in the Final. It was a close match, as neither player led by more than one hole until Tucker closed out the match on No. 17. Visit the Scoring tab for the final bracket, and read the recap and watch the champion interview below.
Entry Deadline: 5pm CDT on Monday, June 12, 2023

NebGolf may reject an entry application, revoke an accepted application, expel from the Championship and/or suspend a player from future championships if the player engages in conduct detrimental to the integrity and image of the game of golf and/or public confidence in the NebGolf. Such conduct may include, but is not limited to, damage to the golf course or the player's equipment, verbal or physical abuse of spectators, officials, volunteers, or staff, blatant or excessive profanity, disorderly behavior, failure to abide by club rules, or any other unbecoming conduct.
Entry fee of $70 must be paid by every player. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if NebGolf is notified (402-505-4653) before the close of entries. (Entries by telephone, e-mail, or FAX not acceptable.) Time limit for entries means time of receipt at NebGolf (not time entry is sent or transmitted to NebGolf). Entries should be submitted early to allow ample time for delay or error in transmission. The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant and the NebGolf will have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences therefrom, including rejection of the entry.
