Lincoln's Carrie Bostar is the Inaugural Nebraska Women's Mid-Amateur Championship, winning by three strokes at Fremont Golf Club on Sunday. Bostar became the first player to hoist the Laura Saf Memorial Trophy after shooting a final round 79 (+4) to win by three strokes with a 151 (+1) total. Bostar is a former college golfer at Embry -Riddle University in Florida, lives in Lincoln now and was competing in her first NGA championship. Entry Deadline: 5 pm CDT on September 10
The format will be 36-holes of stroke play competition. The field will be flighted based on first round scores. Players will have an opportunity to win prizes within their flight. Course set-up will be between 5,100-5,200 yards.
Entrant must be a female amateur golfer who will have reached their twenty-fifth birthday by September 18, 2021 with an up-to-date Handicap Index® issued by a "member club" of the Nebraska Golf Association and a resident of Nebraska (see NGA residency below). All players must conform to the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by the United States Golf Association and The R&A.
Residency: An individual is considered a resident of Nebraska if they a) maintain either a primary or a secondary residence in Nebraska, or b) are an active duty member of the United States Military stationed in Nebraska, or c) are a student physically attending college in Nebraska within a time period four-months prior to the event, or d) are a graduate of a Nebraska high school attending an out-of-state college. If these criteria are in question, the NGA Tournament Committee shall render any final decision.
The NGA may reject an entry application, revoke an accepted application, expel from the Championship and/or suspend a player from future championships if the player engages in conduct detrimental to the integrity and image of the game of golf and/or public confidence in the NGA. Such conduct may include, but is not limited to, damage to the golf course or the player's equipment, verbal or physical abuse of spectators, officials, volunteers, or staff, blatant or excessive profanity, disorderly behavior, failure to abide by club rules, or any other unbecoming conduct.
Entry fee of $150 must be paid by every player. Players who withdraw (402-505-4653, x104) prior to the close of entries will receive a refund minus a $30 service charge. Players who withdraw (402-505-4653, x104) after the close of entries but prior to the competition will not be issued a refund unless the reason for withdrawing is medically related. No refund for any reason after September 17, 2021.
In addition to golf, entry fee includes use of the practice facility, cart both days, on-course amenities, player dinner (Saturday evening) and awards luncheon.
Online applications only. Entries open at 8 a.m. CDT on Monday, March 1, 2021. Entries must be received no later than 5 p.m. CDT on Friday, September 10.
