Oak Hills Country Club Takes Interclub Crown

GOTHENBURG (September 21, 2020) – Oak Hills Country Club took down the perennial favorites in a rematch to win the 2020 NGA Interclub Championship at Wild Horse Golf Club in Gothenburg on Monday.

Oak Hills won the Final, 14-10, over Kearney Country Club to take the championship. Kearney CC had won five of the last 10 titles, including last year over Oak Hills, 21-3. It's the first title for Oak Hills, which joined the Interclub program just a few years ago.

Oak Hills won three of the four Four-Ball matches, and the teams split the Singles matches.

Head Golf Professional Justin Herron was 7-under through 17 holes and won his match against Doug Mitchell, who was 4-under, 3 and 1. In the other Gross Match, Jon Oswalt of Oak Hills CC won 4 and 3 over Nate Modlin of KCC.

Brian Elsasser was the only other OHCC member to win his match, taking a 1-up victory over Rick Smith of KCC. Shawn Benge and Todd Van Essen won their Four-Ball match for OHCC, 1 up, while Andy Morrow and Elsasser also won their match, 3 and 2.

In the Semifinals, Oak Hills defeated Indian Trails Country Club, 17-7. Kearney took out Lochland Country Club, 21-3.
