UNK, Doane Win Team Titles at Nebraska Intercollegiate

Nebraska Wesleyan's Schram and Wayne State's Kenkel Take Individual Crowns

FREMONT (October 7, 2025) - The University of Nebraska-Kearney won the Women's Team Title and Doane University won the Men's Team Title at the 2026 Nebraska Intercollegiate at Centura Hills Golf Club.

Both teams produced the Individual Champions as well, with Calie Dockter of UNK and Josh Wassmer of Doane securing the titles, both at 145 (+1).

It's the second title for UNK, which also won in 2023. The Lopers held off Wayne State College down the stretch to win by seven strokes with a 601 (+25) total. UNK's Final Round 293 (+5) and the 25-over total are both Nebraska Intercollegiate records.

The Doane men held the lead after the first round, and posted the best Final Round, 288 (E), by 16 strokes to run away with the title. The Tigers finished 22 strokes ahead of the competition with a 595 (+19) total. It's the first Nebraska Intercollegiate title for Doane.

The Loper women also took three of the top 5 spots, individually, with Dockter leading the way. The junior from Byron, Minnesota fired rounds of 74 (+2) and 71 (-1) to win by four strokes with her 145 (+1) total. Dockter's Final Round 71 is just the second round under-par in Nebraska Intercollegiate history.

Wayne State's Erica Lee finished runner-up, after posting the lowest round in Intercollegiate history, a 70 (-2). She notched her third-straight Top 10 finish in the event with a 149 (+5) total.

Lopers Claire Berquist and Liz Lyons both finished in a tie for third at 150 (+6), to help their team to the win. Camryn Johnson of Wayne State also tied for third, after a Final Round 72 (E).

Wayne State and UNK accounted for eight players in the Top 10, with Saleah Vivanh-Vong of UNK taking sixth at 151 (+7), and teammate Pella Broms tying for eighth with Wayne State's Hailey Kenkel, at 158 (+14).

Doane University accounted for most of the rest of the Top 10, with Connie Jarm in seventh at 156 (+12), and three players tying for 10th at 163 (+19), including Avery VanHorn, Payton Morgan and Laila Saunders. College of Saint Mary's Victoria Farkas also tied for 10th to earn a medal.

Wassmer held off several contender to win the men's individual crown, and help Doane to the team title. He was two strokes behind after a 72 (E) during a windy first round, and was the steadiest golfer in the Final Round to secure the win with a 73 (+1). Wassmer played the back nine in 35 (-1) to win the title by two strokes with a 145 (+1) total.

A pair of Southeast Community College players finished in a tie for runner-up honors. Cael Peters and Tate Redinger were a couple strokes back at 147 (+3). Redinger had the low round to take the first round lead, at 70 (-2), while Peters came back with a 72 (E) in the Final Round.

The Doane Tigers picked up three more medals, with Carson Kildow posting one of three rounds under-par on Tuesday. His 71 (-1) moved him into fourth at 148 (+4), while Jaime Pala fired a 73 (+1) to finish fifth at 150 (+6). Jax Loh added a round in red figures, and another medal for the Tigers, tying for eighth at 153 (+9) with a closing 71 (-1).

Concordia University's Jude Elgert and Midland University's Luke Friedrichsen tied for sixth at 151 (+7). Freddie Wilson of McCook Community College and two Hastings College golfers, Jaxson Ohlman and Trey Kahrhoff, tied with Loh for eighth at 153 (+9).
