Wyatt Wins Second Nebraska Senior Golfer of the Year Award

Third Player to Win Multiple Awards

OMAHA (November 12, 2025) - The Nebraska Golf Association is proud to announce the selection of Lincoln's Ed Wyatt as the 2025 Nebraska Senior Amateur Golfer of the Year presented by SWAG for a second-time.

Wyatt is the third player to win the award multiple times, joining Fremont's John Sajevic (8) and Gretna's Brian Csipkes (3). He did not win a title in 2025, but had some incredible performances on the national, and international, level to secure the points win and this award.

Wyatt finished runner-up at the 27th Nebraska Senior Amateur Championship at Landmand Golf Club in Homer in June. Battling the toughest conditions of the year, Wyatt finished two strokes back with a 158 (+12) total.

However, it was in July that Wyatt's season turned truly special. He earned a spot in the 2025 R&A Senior Amateur Championship at Walton Heath in England. After rounds of 72 (E) and 75 (+3), Wyatt made the 36-hole cut. He followed again with rounds of 72 (E) and 75 (+3) to finish tied for 32nd.

A couple of weeks later, Wyatt earned a spot in another major championship. He fired a 75 (+3) at Platteview Golf Club in Bellevue to earn medalist honors and the lone qualifying spot in the 70th U.S. Senior Amateur Championship. Wyatt travelled to San Antonio, Texas for the championship at Oak Hills Country Club, and again performed well on the big stage. He shot rounds of 71 (+1) and 75 (+4) to make the cut to match play, earning the No. 43 seed. Wyatt fell behind early to Daniel Sullivan of Pasadena, California, the runner-up from the previous year. He fought back push the match the distance, but Sullivan eventually pulled out a 1-up victory.

Wyatt also earned the No. 3 seed at the 15th Nebraska Senior Match Play Championship at Fremont Golf Club. He won his first round match, but fell in the Quarterfinals to Lincoln's Jayson Brueggemann, 3 and 1.

Wyatt will be honored at the Nebraska Golf Association's Annual Awards Banquet on Friday, November 21 at Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln (Tickets can be purchased here). In addition, NebGolf will recognize its Amateur Golfer of the Year, Women’s Amateur Golfer of the Year, Junior Amateur Golfer of the Year and Girls' Amateur Golfer of the Year.
