Ruge Continues to Lead at 51st Nebraska Women's Amateur

Round Two Conducted Wednesday at Beatrice Country Club

BEATRICE (June 4, 2025) – Omaha's Katie Ruge holds the lead for the fifth straight round, and sits at the top after the second round of the 51st Nebraska Women’s Amateur Championship on Wednesday at Beatrice Country Club.

Meanwhile, Anne Robertson of Columbus took the lead after the first round of the 47th Nebraska Women's Senior Amateur Championship, and is in search of her second title.

Ruge led wire-to-wire on her way to last year's title, and is well on her way again with a three-stroke lead at 146 (+2). She shot a round of 76 (+4) and now holds the 36-hole lead for the third-straight year. The Omaha Maverick would become the ninth player to win back-to-back titles.

After a rainy and cold first round, Wednesday brought ideal conditions and a few players took advantage. Ruge pushed her lead out early, with birdies on Nos. 10 and 13, but fell off the pace after that.

Husker golfer Arden Louchheim is also right where she was last year, in second behind Ruge. Louchheim posted a 74 (+2) and is three strokes back at 149 (+5).

Three players were able to match par during the round, with rounds of 72 (E), including Omaha's Kaitlyn Hanna and Wahoo's Brooke Thiele, who are tied with another Husker golfer Eden Lohrbach. They are all tied for third at 151 (+7). Lohrbach was in the final grouping and carded a 79 (+7). Thiele is also leading the race for the Low Junior award.

Another pair of Huskers are in the mix, with Lincoln's Olivia Lovegrove in sixth at 152 (+8), after a 72 (E) of her own. Teammate Wahoo's Lauren Thiele is seventh at 153 (+9).

Lincoln's Naryn Kim and Nicole Kolbas, who faced off in the 2023 Nebraska Girls' Match Play Final, are tied for eighth at 156 (+12). While Elly Honnens of Lincoln and Emily Karmazin of Omaha are tied for 10th at 157 (+13).

Robertson jumped out to the lead in the Nebraska Women's Senior Amateur with a round of 78 (+6). She caught fire late, playing her last six holes in 2-under to take charge. The 2023 Champion leads by three strokes over Lincoln's Stephanie Kolbas, who shot an 81 (+9).
