On May 27, Omaha's Shadow Ridge will host Final Qualifying for the 45th U.S. Senior Open Championship. The west Omaha club is one of 12 host sites for the national championship's final stage; the USGA made the move to two stages of qualifying in 2025. The field, to be announced May 10, will be comprised of qualifiers from local qualifying and those exempt from local qualifying. Top finishers from the Shadow Ridge qualifier will advance to compete in this year's Senior Open Championship at the Broadmoor (East Course) in Colorado Springs, Colorado June 26-29. Entries are open to professional golfers, amateur golfers, and applicants for reinstatement who have reached their 50th birthday by June 26, 2025. Amateurs and applicants for reinstatement must have an up-to-date Handicap Index® based on ratings for men not exceeding 2.4 under the Rules of Handicapping. A current Handicap ID number (GHIN) issued through an authorized golf club is required and must be submitted on the entry form.
Amateur Status: All amateur players must conform to the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by the United States Golf Association and The R&A.
Withdrawal from Qualifying: Players can withdraw by logging into their account and clicking on the WITHDRAW tab. They must also notify the Official in Charge prior to their scheduled Qualifying round. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from future USGA competitions.
The qualifying entry fee of $200 must be paid by players who participate at a qualifying location. Players who qualify for the championship will be charged an additional fee of $100 within 72 hours of the start of the championship. The fee is non-refundable. The wait list fee of $10 must be paid by players that select to join a wait list. The fee is non-refundable. Players can withdraw by logging into their account and clicking on the WITHDRAW tab.
ENTRY APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY USGA NO LATER THAN 4 P.M. C.D.T. on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 2025. Late applications are not acceptable and will be automatically rejected. (Entries by telephone, telegraph, mail or FAX are not acceptable.) Time limit for entries means time of receipt at USGA (not time entry is transmitted to USGA). Entries should be submitted early to allow ample time for delay or error in transmission. The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant and the USGA will have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences therefrom, including rejection of the entry.
Final Qualifying: 18-holes, at stroke play. The Final Qualifying field will consist of qualifiers from Local Qualifying and those players exempt from Local Qualifying.
Final Qualifying: Lowest Scorer: Silver medal; if a tie, duplicate medals will be awarded. Lowest Amateur Scorer (if not lowest scorer): Silver Medal; if a tie, duplicate medals will be awarded.
Nebgolf will post Stroke Play scores for all competitors in the field who have a Handicap Index® issued by the USGA.
Qualifying Places
The number of qualifying places will be announced by the USGA (and posted here) on Friday, May 16.
Practice Rounds
Practice rounds are available at a time convenient to Shadow Ridge Country Club at a rate of $50 (includes cart and use of the practice range). If desired, those entered may Joe Finnegan in the golf shop at (402) 333-0500 to make arrangements. Note: Times on weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and Memorial Day are not available until after 2 p.m. Because Memorial Day holiday is the day prior to the qualifier, any effort to play a practice round prior to that day would be appreciated.
Push Carts & Caddies
Push carts are prohibited. Should a player wish to arrange for a local caddie, they should contact the Official-in-Charge, Craig Ames at (402) 658-5827, to make proper arrangements.

Tuesday, May 27
6:30 a.m. - Registration begins
6:30 a.m. - Practice areas open (available for pre-round practice only)
6:30 a.m. - Belfry (lower level of clubhouse) available for beverage service
7:30 a.m.-9:40 a.m. - Final Qualifying starting times (1st and 10th tees)
11 a.m. - Food Service available on back patio
Following Golf - Play-off if necessary
Accommodations
Because of the large number of lodging options available in Omaha there are no hotel arrangements made for this qualifier.
