Nietfeldt Adds Another Trophy with Nebraska Senior Match Play Title
Postponed Final Conducted Friday at Platteview Golf Club
BELLEVUE (October 9, 2026) - Elkhorn's Ryan Nietfeldt added another trophy on Friday, winning the postponed Final of the 16th Nebraska Senior Match Play Championship at Platteview Golf Club in Bellevue.
The Final was postponed more than a week due to excessive rain, but the weather on Friday was perfect and Nietfeldt rolled in the Final, 5 and 4, over Elkhorn's Kelly Karmazin.
Nietfeldt, a former First-Team All Conference Husker (1996), earned his 11th NebGolf title, and his first senior title. He's now tied for second all-time in NebGolf men's titles with Omaha's Andy Sajevic.
It's the seventh different championship Nietfeldt has won. He's the the first player to win a NebGolf junior title and a senior title, and adds the Nebraska Senior Match Play to his Nebraska Amateur (2002), Nebraska Match Play (2003), Nebraska Junior Amateur (1993, 1994), Nebraska Junior Match Play (1993), Nebraska Mid-Amateur (2001, 2013, 2019) and Nebraska Four-Ball (2019, 2022) titles.
Nietfeldt jumped out to the lead with a win on No. 1, and went 2 up with a par on No. 4. Karmazin got one back with a two-putt birdie on the par-4 seventh, but Nietfeldt won another par-3 hole on No. 8.
On the back nine, Nietfeldt made his move though, winning three of the first four holes to push his lead to 5 up. He closed the match on another par-3, No. 14, with a par to secure the title.
In the President's Bracket, Omaha's Chris Mangan defeated Omaha's Trent Morrison in 19 holes.
