Arman and Nietfeldt Qualify for U.S. Mid-Amateur

Qualifying Conducted on Monday at Norfolk Country Club

NORFOLK (August 11, 2025) - Nick Arman of Cave Creek, Arizona and Ryan Nietfeldt of Elkhorn advanced through qualifying for the 44th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, earning their spots at Norfolk Country Club on Monday.

Arman shot a round of 65 (-7) to earn medalist honors and the first of two qualifying spots. He had a bogey-free round, and birdied all four par-5s to take the top spot.

Nietfeldt was just a stroke behind with a 66 (-6) to take the second qualifying spot. The highlight of his round was a hole-out for an eagle-2 on the 431-yard par-4 fifth hole. It will be his third-time playing in the U.S. Mid-Amateur.

Plainview's Matt Meuret, a Norfolk Country Club member, is the first alternate after a round of 67 (-5). Michael Young of Canada won on the second-playoff hole to earn the second alternate spot, after tying with Lincoln's Travis Minzel and Omaha's John Lapour at 69 (-3).

Arman and Nietfeldt will play next at the 44th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Troon Country Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, September 13-18.
