NebGolf Announces 2026 Championship Schedule
Entries open March 2 at nebgolf.org
OMAHA (February 15, 2026) – Entries open for the Nebraska Golf Association’s championships on March 2, and the schedule is full of opportunities for golfers of all ages to compete at some of the top courses across the state.

The 2026 schedule is highlighted by a return to The Prairie Club, along with the associations premier championships returning to two of the best country clubs outside of Omaha/Lincoln.
The 14 championships available for NebGolf members to compete in, include four in which full exemptions into USGA championships are again available. The champions of the Nebraska Amateur, Nebraska Women's Amateur, Nebraska Junior Amateur and Nebraska Girls' Amateur will all advance to the respective USGA championships in 2026.

The Prairie Club, Valentine (No. 18 - The Pines)
The 25th Nebraska Four-Ball Championship returns to The Prairie Club on May 8-9 for the second-straight year. The Pines Course is expected to be used for this championship, after The Dunes Course hosted the championship last year. The Pines, designed by Graham Marsh, is currently ranked 90th in Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Public Courses. Like last year, entries will open for exempt players and sides only on March 2. They will have until March 16 to secure their spots in the field, when entries open for non-exempt sides.

Norfolk Country Club (No. 6)
NebGolf's oldest championship travels north to the oldest club outside of Omaha/Lincoln in the state. Norfolk Country Club, founded in 1908, will host the 118th Nebraska Amateur, July 28-31. It will be the sixth time hosting the championship for the club, which will tie Fremont Golf Club and Lochland Country Club for sixth all-time. Norfolk last hosted in 2014, when Friend's David Clouse turned back the clock in a dominant performance to become the oldest Nebraska Amateur Champion, at 54. The club first hosted in 1969, when Fairbury's Frank Rose won his first title, and the championship returned in 1978 (Scottsbluff's Mike Klein), 1988 (Lincoln's Larry Sock) and 1995 (Omaha's Jay Muller). The 2026 Champion will earn an exemption into the 126th U.S. Amateur at Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania in August.

Lochland Country Club, Hastings (Nos. 17, 9 and 4)
The 52nd Nebraska Women's Amateur Championship makes a long-awaited return to Lochland Country Club, June 2-4. It will be 50 years since the great Val Skinner of North Platte won the only other Nebraska Women's Amateur at Lochland in 1976. Skinner was just 15-years-old at the time, still the youngest champion to this day. She went on to win six times on the LPGA Tour. The 2026 Champion will be headed to the 126th U.S. Women's Amateur at The Honors Course in Tennessee in August.
In addition, the 48th Nebraska Women's Senior Amateur Championship will be conducted concurrently at Lochland Country Club. The Senior Amateur field will play 36-holes of stroke play on June 2-3.

York Country Club (No. 8)
The second-oldest golf championship in the state is back at a course that is more than 100-years-old itself. York Country Club will host the 103rd Nebraska Women's Match Play Championship, July 20-23. The club was founded in 1919, and has hosted several NebGolf Championships, but will host this one for the first time.

Oak Hills Country Club, Omaha (No. 8)
Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha will play host to a men's major for the first time since 1990. It will be the venue for the 59th Nebraska Match Play Championship, June 22-26. The club hosted the 1986 championship, won by Omaha's David Walker, and also hosted the 1990 Nebraska Amateur, won by Lincoln's Mike Rack. A significant change is in store for the championship in 2026 as well, with the format changing to 18 holes of Stroke Play Qualifying with a cut to the low 64 players for the match play bracket. This was the format for several years prior to 2015.
Another big change to the championship lineup is the expansion of the Mid-Amateur circuit. The 29th Nebraska Mid-Amateur Championship will be conducted over 54 holes at Beatrice Country Club, August 21-23. The field will be cut to the low 40 scores and ties after 36 holes, with the remaining players competing in the final round on Sunday. The change allows for World Amateur Golf Ranking points to be awarded, and elevates one of NebGolf's most popular championships. It will be a fifth time hosting the championship for Beatrice Country Club, which was the site of the first championship in 1999.
The 6th Nebraska Women's Mid-Amateur will be staged in September, with the site to be determined. Women 22-years-and-older are eligible to compete in the competition, as long as they have not competed on a college golf team since the previous September. In addition to the championship competition, the field will be flighted after the first round.
NebGolf's senior championships are also set, with the 28th Nebraska Senior Amateur Championship at Tatanka Golf Club in Niobrara, July 14-15. The 16th Nebraska Senior Match Play Championship will take place at Platteview Golf Club in Bellevue, September 28-30.
The 2026 schedule also features championships for junior golfers. Oakland Golf Club will be the venue for both the 26th Nebraska Girls’ Amateur Championship and the 59th Nebraska Junior Amateur Championship, June 8-10. Exemptions into the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship and U.S. Junior Amateur Championship will again be at stake.
The 64th Nebraska Girls’ Match Play Championship and the 37th Nebraska Junior Match Play Championship will be conducted at Fremont Golf Club, July 7-10.
Entries for all championships will officially open at 8 a.m. on March 2. For more information on the NebGolf’s championships, visit the Competitions section below.
