Round Two Conducted Tuesday at Oakland Golf Club

OAKLAND (June 9, 2026) – The record pace continued at Oakland Golf Club on Tuesday, with Miles Elgert of Lincoln and Harper Kalin of Valley out in front at the 59th Nebraska Junior Amateur Championship, and Brooke Thiele of Wahoo stayed hot to lead the 26th Nebraska Girls' Amateur Championship after Round Two.

After a record-setting day on Monday, Tuesday's second round was more difficult with hot temperatures and gusty winds. The fields were cut to 37 boys and 16 girls for Thursday's Final Round.

Elgert and Kalin each put together back-to-back scores of 67 (-5) in their first two rounds for a two day total of 134 (-10). They lead by two strokes, and are on pace to top the championship scoring record of 9-under.

Kalin finished his second round with birdies on both Nos. 17 and 18, while Elgert’s second round was bogey-free. Both players would earn their first NebGolf title with a win.

In front of the pack on the girls' side is Thiele, who fired back-to-back rounds of 69 (-3) to enjoy a two shot lead on the field. She matched her championship record round and now holds two of the lowest rounds in Nebraska Girls' Amateur history. The defending champion is also looking to become the sixth player to repeat.

Back on the boys' side, Omaha's Tommy Kelley, who carded a 69 (-3) in his second round, sits two shots off of the leaders in third, with a two day score of 136 (-8).

Defending champion Jaxson Hinze of Waco sits three strokes out of the lead at 137 (-7). Hinze’s second round ended with a total of six birdies, and his card read 67 (-5) after his final hole, tied for the low-round of the day.

Rounding out the top five is a tie between Kreyton Eikmeier of Elkhorn and first-round leader Hayden Tenopir of Lincoln, who both sit four strokes back at 138 (-6).

Sixteen junior girls made the cut for the Final Round of the Nebraska Girls' Amateur Championship, with those advancing finishing their two rounds with scores of 161 (+17) or better.

Minden graduate KayLynn Jorgensen sits two shots behind Thiele. Jorgensen also carded a 69 (-3) in her bogey-free second round, tying the championship record.

The 2023 Nebraska Girls' Match Play Champion, Naryn Kim of Lincoln will join them in the final group, as the only players under-par. Kim shot an even-par 72, finishing with a two-day total of 141 (-3), three shots off the leader.

Tied for fourth is Eden Larson of Lincoln and Lauren Murnan of Omaha at 146 (+2). Bennington's Anna Midyett, the youngest player in the field at 13, made the cut and is in sixth at 149 (+5).

The shot of the day came from Hickman's Landon Moore, who holed out from 174 yards with a 7-iron on the par-5 17th hole for a double-eagle. The albatross moved him inside the cutline, and he finished at 3-over to advance to Wednesday.

The Final Round begins at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, with the girls' leaders set to tee off at 9:40 a.m. and the boys' leaders to tee off at 10 a.m.
