Qualifying for the 12th U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship will take place at The Club at Indian Creek in Elkhorn on Thursday, October 15. The competition will take place on the Red Feather and Black Bird nines. Top finishers qualify to compete in the 2027 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball at Erin Hills in Erin, Wisconsin May 22-26. For details, link to the appropriate tab above. The deadline to enter is 4 p.m. CDT, Wednesday, August 12.
Entries are open to sides of amateur golfers with an individual up-to-date Handicap Index® based on ratings for men not exceeding 2.4 under the Rules of Handicapping. A current Handicap ID number (GHIN) issued through an authorized golf club is required and must be submitted on the entry form. Two players who play as partners comprise a side. Partners are not required to be from the same club, state, country, etc.
Amateur Status: All amateur players must conform to the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by the United States Golf Association and The R&A.
Performance in Qualifying: If a side fails to return a score within 8 strokes of the Course Rating, future entries for certain USGA Championships may be declined. Sides who are placed on Performance Violation 1 or 2 will be notified via email and provided a link to submit recent tournament scores that illustrate their ability to compete at the national championship level. The entire Performance Policy for USGA Qualifying, including instructions for clearing a violation, can be found at the following link: https://champ-admin.usga.org/player/articles/performance-policy-for-usga-qualifying.
Withdrawal from Qualifying: Players can withdraw by logging into their account and clicking on the WITHDRAW tab. They must also notify the Official in Charge prior to their scheduled Qualifying round. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from future USGA competitions.
All sides, including those who are exempt, must file an entry application online. The first player of the side (Player A) must complete an entry application. A $2 fee will be charged and immediately refunded to the credit card used, which serves to securely validate and hold the credit card. When Player B completes their application, both players will be charged one of the following fees: The Championship Entry Fee of $290 must be paid by sides who are exempt into the championship. The Qualifying Entry Fee of $190 must be paid by sides who participate at a Qualifying Location. Sides who qualify for the championship will be charged an additional fee of $100, 10 days before the start of the championship. Withdrawals prior to three days before the start of the championship will receive a refund of $100. Withdrawals after three days before the start of the championship will not receive a refund. The Waitlist Fee of $10 must be paid by sides who select to join a waitlist. The fee is non-refundable. Once Player A completes an application, he will receive two emails: 1. Confirmation e-mail 2. Registration e-mail to be forwarded to the partner (Player B). Player B will use the registration email from Player A to access and complete their entry application. Player B will select the exemption category and/or qualifying location and/or waitlist site to complete the side. Once the side is complete, both players will be charged the Championship, Qualifying or Waitlist fee, and will be sent an e-mail notification confirming their applications have been received. If there is an issue with charging a credit card, the USGA will email the player a link to submit payment. The player will have 24 hours to provide updated credit card information. If payment is not received within 24 hours, the side will be withdrawn and the player who was charged will receive a full refund. The entry of a side is deemed complete once both players have completed their portion of the entry process. Only completed sides will be accepted at the close of entries. Only one entry may be filed per player. The USGA reserves the right to disqualify any player who submits more than one entry. A player may apply to a qualifying site or a waitlist, but not both.
Withdrawals prior to the close of entries will receive a refund of $142.50 regardless of reason. Withdrawals after the close of entries and no later than 11:59 PM EDT 72 hours before the qualifier will receive a refund of $95 regardless of reason. Withdrawals after 11:59 PM EDT 72 hours before the qualifier will not receive a refund. Withdrawals after the date of the qualifier will not receive a refund.
Entry applications must be received by the USGA no later than 4:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Late applications are not acceptable and will be automatically rejected. (Entries by telephone, telegraph, mail or FAX are not acceptable.) Time limit for entries means time of receipt at USGA (not time entry is transmitted to USGA). Entries should be submitted early to allow ample time for delay or error in transmission. The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant and the USGA will have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences therefrom, including rejection of the entry.
Qualifying: 18-holes, Four-Ball stroke play.
Lowest Scoring Side In Each Location: Silver medals; if a tie, duplicate medals will be awarded. Sides tied for medalist who do not receive their medal on-site will have their medal shipped to their home after the qualifying window concludes.
The NGA will post Stroke Play scores for all competitors in the field who have a Handicap Index® issued by the USGA.
Qualifying Places
The number of qualifiers’ places at each location will be determined by the USGA after entries close, based on size and strength of field. A tie for the last qualifier’s place or an alternate’s place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.
