54-Hole Harvest Tournament to Begin October 10

A late addition to the Nebraska Golf Association calendar, the Harvest at Indian Creek will be played October 10-11 on the Black Bird and Gray Hawk nines at the Club at Indian Creek in Elkhorn. The 54-hole stroke play tournament will feature divisions for both men and women. All participants will play a continuous 36-holes on Saturday with a final round scheduled Sunday morning.

ELIGIBILITY

Entries are open to amateur golfers who will have reached their eighteenth birthday by October 10, 2020. Eligible participants include 1) Varsity Men’s and Women's college golfers from the 2019-20 school year; 2) Those scheduled to be on a Varsity Men’s and Women’s college golf roster in the 2020-21 school year; 3) Other college age individual golfers with an active Handicap Index® not exceeding 2.0 and 4) A limited number of non-college golfers with an active Handicap Index® not exceeding 2.0. Exception: Prospective Student Athletes (PSA’s) are not eligible to compete. 

Note: Participants are responsible for paying their own entry fee and expenses they incur during the event. Collegiate varsity participants may not represent their school in anyway during the event.

Amateur Status: All players must conform with the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by the USGA.

CODE OF CONDUCT

The NGA may reject an entry application, revoke an accepted application, expel from the competition and/or suspend a player from future competitions if the player engages in conduct detrimental to the integrity and image of the game of golf and/or public confidence in the NGA. Such conduct may include, but is not limited to, damage to the golf course or the player’s equipment, verbal or physical abuse of spectators, officials, volunteers, or staff, blatant or excessive profanity, disorderly behavior, failure to abide by club rules, or any other unbecoming conduct.

ENTRY FEE

Entry fee of $165 must be paid by every player. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if the NGA is notified (402-505-4653) before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded in the event of a medical condition with a doctor’s written documentation, if requested no later than October 9. No refund for any reason after October 9. A $30 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

Entry fee includes three tournament rounds, complimentary use of the practice facility prior to play each day and box lunch on Saturday between rounds.

ENTRY PERIOD

ENTRY APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY NGA NO LATER THAN 5 P.M. C.D.T. ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2020. Late applications are not acceptable and will be automatically rejected. (Entries by telephone, mail, e-mail, or FAX not acceptable.) Time limit for entries means time of receipt at NGA (not time entry is transmitted to NGA). Entries should be submitted early to allow ample time for delay or error in transmission. The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant and the NGA will have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences therefrom, including rejection of the entry.

PLAYERS

78 players eligible (54 men, 24 women), comprised of both exempt players that file an entry and non-exempt players based on order of entry.  All players, including those exempt, must file an entry application.

EXEMPTIONS

Eligible players in the following categories qualify for exemption in the 2020 competition only. The NGA reserves the right to revise any of the exemption categories. Exempt players who wish to participate in the competition must file an entry no later than 5 p.m. C.D.T. on Friday, October 2, 2020.

PRACTICE ROUNDS
Indian Creek is a public facility and is accessible for golf prior to the event at the normal green fee rate ($35 Monday-Thursday, $43 Friday-Sunday). Please call the golf shop at (402) 289-0900, ext 5. to make a tee time reservation.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10

7 a.m.-9:30 a.m. - Registration/Practice Areas Available
7:50 a.m.-9:50 a.m. - First Round, 18-holes (Tees 1/10)
Between Rounds on Starting Tees - Box Lunch Available
Second Round, 18-holes (Tees 1/10) (continuous play)
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11
7 a.m.-9:30 a.m. - Player Registration/Practice Areas Available
8 a.m.-10 a.m. - Final Round, 18-holes (Tees 1/10)

Lowest score for 54 holes in each gender division will be champion. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole by hole play-off will be held immediately following play until a champion is determined.

PRIZES (EACH GENDER DIVISION)
WINNER: Gold medal and trophy.
RUNNER-UP: Silver medal and trophy.

RULES OF GOLF; CLOSE OF COMPETITION
Play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the United States Golf Association and R&A Rules Limited. Questions will be settled by the on-site Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. The competition is final when the trophy has been presented to the winner or, in the absence of a prize ceremony, when all scores have been approved by the Committee.

GOLF BALLS; DRIVER HEADS
Only brands of golf balls on the most current List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by contacting the USGA Equipment Standards Department at (908) 234-2300. See Model Local Rules G-1 and G-3.

FOOTWEAR
The Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-7.

CADDIES
Caddies are prohibited. Non-motorized push carts are permitted.

TRANSPORTATION
Automotive transportation is prohibited. Participants must walk at all times unless otherwise approved by the Committee.

SCORE POSTING
All scores will be posted for handicap purposes. Players should not post these scores individually.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE
Players must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing.

LOCAL RULES; TERMS OF COMPETITION; SCHEDULES
The NGA Tournament Committee/on-site Rules Committee reserves the right to alter any of the Local Rules, Terms of the Competition, provisions and/or schedules herein. The decision of the NGA Tournament Committee/on-site Rules Committee in any matter will be final.
