NGA Fall Junior Series

2020 NGA Fall Junior Series

September - October

The Winners Win Another FJS Title

The Winners won a second-straight event to cap the 2020 NGA Fall Junior Series, with the Frontier at York Country Club on Saturday. The Winners, the team of Luke Gutschewski of Elkhorn and Jason Kolbas of Lincoln, captured the team title by 13 strokes with a 139 (-1) total. Gutschewski, a senior at Mount Michael, was the only player to break par, taking the individual title with a round of 69 (-1). Kolbas, a senior at Lincoln Pius X, finished just a stroke back in second at 70 (E). The Winners took the Pioneer event at Norfolk Country Club a couple weeks ago, with teammate Christopher Atkinson of Omaha, who did not compete in the Frontier. The FJS post-series awards will be announced on Monday. Visit the tabs above for more information.

The NGA's Fall Junior Series gives high school golfers the opportunity to build their golfing resume by competing as part of a team or as an individual in a series of 18-hole competitions during the fall.

Teams - Junior golfers compete in teams of three players, counting their two lowest scores for each event. The top team receives an award at each tournament. A team may have up to four players compete throughout the series. In addition to the team race, representatives of teams competing in an event are also placed in the individual competition against all other participants.

Individuals - Players not representing teams may also compete as individuals in Fall Junior Series events. A limited number of spots will be held at each event for individual golfers. The top 10 individual scores at each tournament will receive recognition. In addition to individual registrants, team participants are also eligible for individual recognition.

Each event is limited to 60 golfers and the entry fee for each competition is $60 per player. Registration opens August 26.

A list of participants and pairings is sent to area college golf coaches prior to each tournament. Following the event the same is done with the results.

Each event in the Fall Junior Series is awarded NGA Junior Point Standings points. In addition separate Fall Junior Series point standings are established to track both the individual and team race. Post season recognition is given to the top five individual point finishers, also known as the FJS All-Star Team. The top Team finisher is also recognized and presented with a special prize. The overall points race will be based on an individual or team's top three finishes.
